BIMStorm BHL Washington DC
BIMStorm™
Connects the World
In a world where we must make
decisions that impact our environment, the only way to connect the dots
is through collaboration. This requires a different way of thinking and
process. BIMStorms™ are part of the answer to this challenge.
They allow global teams to collaborate in real time.
BIMStorm™
Live at the Ecobuild Conference in Washington DC.
- Several thousand people
regardless of technical expertise have participated in BIMStorms and
created 4,000 buildings totaling 485 million square feet.
- Live demonstration of BIM
using Low Carbon Collaboration techniques featuring speaker Kimon
Onuma, FAIA, Principal, Onuma, Inc.
- Live from the show floor
with the BIMStorm Teams.
- Some of the tools that are
used in a BIMStorm include: Archicad, Excel, Elite Cad, ESRI, Google
Earth, Google Maps, Google SketchUp, Onuma Planning System, Revit,
Solibri, Trelligence Affinity, VectorWorks, Paper and Pencil and other
tools

BIM
and Cloud Computing from Oslo to Washington DC Fuse at Ecobuild America
WASHINGTON DC –
Ecobuild America® welcomes Build Hospital Live –
BIMStorm (BHL 2009) to its growing host of visionary participants, this
December 9-10. BHL 2009, which commenced in Oslo, Norway on Sept. 22
will climax at the Ecobuild exhibit in Washington D.C. BIMStorm is a
web-based, hands-on workshop that enables stakeholders to be part of a
live, collaborative Building Information Modeling (BIM) process.
BHL 2009 will start with an
actual hospital project with detailed client requirements. A series of
BIM workflows will include creating BIM from DWG and Excel, use of
model servers, model validation, room data, and real time
collaboration.
While the focus of BHL 2009
will be on medical facility planning and design, the core principles
and processes are relevant for the entire building industry. Kimon
Onuma, FAIA, president of Onuma, Inc. and Lars Chr Christensen
president of multiBIM will be live at Ecobuild mashing up and hashing
out BIM solutions alongside their architectural and
engineering contemporaries. Data Design Systems, Jotne , and Nosyko,
worldwide leaders of BIM software and servers from Norway, will be
joining the BHL 2009 live at Ecobuild working alongside Onuma and
multiBIM as a combined force to revolutionize the building industry.
Thousands of architects,
engineers, owners, facility managers and other design and construction
industry experts will convene at the Washington Convention Center for
the annual Ecobuild America® conference and exhibition, an
event designed to explore and energize sustainable, green,
high-performance solutions for the built environment with the newest IT
solutions and processes.
Both Ecobuild America®
and BHL 2009 encourage public participation and collaboration with
industry leaders. The project site in Washington DC will be announced
on Nov. 10, 2009. For more information or to get involved, visit
www.aecEcobuild.com and http://BIMStorm.com,
respectively.
Ecobuild America®,
sponsored by the National Institute of Building Sciences, educates
design and construction professionals on how to improve our built
environment. This unique conference and exhibit, not only introduces
new strategies and materials to create high performance, sustainable
structures, but also the technology to do it faster and more
profitably. www.ecobuildmedia.com
Build Hospital Live –
BIMStorm BHL 2009 brings together experts, using a variety of
interoperable tools, to demonstrate how knowledge from owners,
engineers, architects, facility managers, and the public can be
“mashed-up” in the cloud today. BHL 2009 is an
industry sandbox in which participants interact on a project , and
learn first hand how to become relevant in the 21st century.
Onuma is recognized as a leader
in building industry technologies and has a unique perspective that
spans architecture, planning, programming and software development.
Onuma has been a leader in bringing together BIM tools and teams using
buildingSMART and Open BIM processes with award winning BIMStorms.
Christensen is recognized as
one of the buildingSMART pioneers globally and in Norway. He acts as a
Lead Aquarium Facilitator in buildingSMART International and is also
